BUBA Championship PDF Print E-mail

The BUBA Championship is the flagship competition within British university baseball. It is the only student only baseball league currently in operation in the UK and features all of the BUBA affiliated teams.

The competition is run across two division, north and south, with clubs competing against each other within their division. At the end of the regular season (after which each team should have played all the others in their division) the top two teams from each go forward to compete in the 'Final Four' playoff competition. The winner of this is crowed BUBA Champion.

In 2010, the championship will take on a slightly different format. Regular season play will take the shape of three weekend 'mini-tournaments' in each division, spread out over the Spring term. This will enable teams to play their strongest squads at each event and to minimise the burden of travel and facilities. The first of these weekends is due to take place during the first weeks of March.

The 2010 divisional splits are as follows:

Southern Division Northern Division
Brighton Panthers Leeds Oaks
Imperial Falcons Lincoln Commoners
Oxford Kings Nottingham Thieves
Southampton Mustangs UEA Blue Sox
Kings College Sheffield Iron Eagles
