It was to be the first time out for the British University All-Stars, a trial run for a team that will continue to get stronger and stronger as BUBA, its member teams and British university baseball as a whole continue to grow and develop. The London Tournament at Croydon, one of UK baseball's showpiece events, was the setting for six Thieves to make their national stage debuts.

Pitchers Shannon Henry, Tatsuya Yogo and Peter Cho all made starts, showing the pitching dominance the Thieves had utilised over the previous season. First baseman John Irving, off the back of his final season for the Thieves, was given the honour of not only playing for the All-Stars but managing them as well. Rowan Ellis (RF) and Philip Longdin (2B) also made outstanding apearances for the student collective.

The performance of the Nottingham boys were too shaby either. John Irving hit .571 and Peter Cho went .333  over the 4 matches of the competition. Tatsuya Yogo threw 9 strikeouts against the Essex Arrows, in what was an inspired but ultimately friutless display of pitching genius.

The All-Stars won both their group games on day one but failed in the knockout stages of day two, leaving them with a respectable halfway finsh of 8th overall. The All-Stars will be back next year with we hope, just as much influence from the boys in green.
